An amazing journey in Mexico

With Kedrion Biopharma we travelled to Mexico documenting the life of haemophilia patients. As often in those professional and personal journeys, I was blown away by the kindness of the people who opened their doors to us and welcomed us into their lives. A fantastic journey which I will never forget. ¡Viva México!

This portrait has been shortlisted for this year Award and book. ‘I’ve lived in Hackney for 16 years, and I love photographing my area. These three girls were at the back of Broadway Market. They call themselves the “Backshop Bitches”. I spent a good hour talking to them, listening to music on their portable bluetooth speaker and taking some shots. I was fascinated by their look and attitude. To my eyes, they sum up London’s generation Z pretty well’

Thanks to the Guardian Weekend and the phycologists and logistical help of MSF (doctors without borders) we travelled from Greece to Serbia, Belgium and Sweden meeting many asylum seekers who had found themselves struggling with mental health problems.
