Mike Leigh and Marianne Jean-Baptiste for G2

I met legendary director Mike Leigh and actor Marianne Jean-Baptiste in a hotel in Central London. Not many options for location and not much time either but I truly enjoyed the challenge and the interactions with them.

Bobo Vieri: 90s footballers legend

Bobo Vieri: 90s footballers legend

I had just two minutes to photograph the legendary 90s footballer Christian Vieri for a brilliant feature by Guardian journalist and football lover Michael Butler. Growing up in Italy, watching players like Bobo was part of the magic of football for me. Getting the best shot in such a short time is never easy, but I love the challenge and the adrenaline. After the photos, I stayed for the interview—a fascinating chat about Bobo’s life and career. Next on my list would be Francesco Totti!

Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2024

Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2024

I’m over the moon to share the news that one of my photographs is part of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2024 exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. This is my second time in four years, and it couldn’t be a more significant milestone in my career. I couldn’t be more excited!! The Journey Behind the Lens These images were taken as part of a beautiful journey discovering the unknown world of cheerleading. In July 2021, cheerleading became an official Olympic sport. There are 119 national federations and over 10 million athletes across all seven continents practicing the sport. I have been very lucky to travel to Nigeria, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Greece, documenting this colorful, joyous, community-based discipline. If you want to read more, here are the links to my website and to The Guardian Saturday Magazine, which published and commissioned the story.

Portrait of Britain Award 2025

Portrait of Britain Award 2025

Very pleased to share the news that 2 of my images are shortlisted for the #portraitofbritain award and they will be featured in the @bjp1854 POB Book vol. 7! The caption of the image: 1st Image: Allyson Williams MBE, shot for @migrationmuseumuk for a special project/exhibition that marks the 75 years of the NHS and celebrates the crucial role of its international workers. Today, around one in six people working in the NHS are non-British, and many others are the children and grandchildren of migrant healthcare workers. In the image is 2nd image: Zubaydah Abdi shot for @guardian to illustrate how the pandemic affected young people. I met Zubaydah Abdi very early in the morning before she was due to go to work. A strong young woman who talks very openly about her generation's struggle during the pandemic. “The years between 16 and 18 are a blur to me: I feel as if I’m a 16-year-old stuck within a 19-year-old’s body without the experiences or skills to fulfill their responsibilities....”

the latest edition of 'The 1890' - University of Greenwich Magazine

1890 is the online magazine for alumni and supporters, and it is named after the year the University of Greenwich was first established as Woolwich Polytechnic (the second polytechnic in the country). I have been collaborating with Mary and Sophie and the fantastic team at Greenwich for a few years and they truly are a bunch of fantastic individuals. Thank you all!

Faces of Favell - 50 years of a community hub

Faces of Favell - 50 years of a community hub

In 2021 and a few months ago, I was appointed as a photographer for two commissions in collaboration with the creative group “60 Miles by Road or Rail”. These were two highly engaging community-based projects documenting the new town stories of Northampton and Corby through intergenerational activities, marking 50 years since their creation. In both instances, photography was part of a broader collaboration involving myself as the photographer, a videographer, and contributions from oral history and theatre. The first project also involved the Northampton Museum, which hosted a photographic exhibition. The results were outstanding, with my images featured by the BBC, The Guardian, and other media outlets. The most recent project celebrated the 50th anniversary of Weston Favell Shopping Centre. For this, I spent several days capturing portraits of over 80 individuals I met around the area. These are the people who bring life and character to the centre, transforming it into a vibrant community hub rather than just a shopping destination. The outcome of the work is a semi-permanent large exhibition, funded by Arts Council England and Northampton Town Council, displayed within the walls of the centre.

How Scotland’s seaweed growers are aiming to revolutionise what we buy

How Scotland’s seaweed growers are aiming to revolutionise what we buy

Thanks to a trip organised @wwf_uk and @guardian, I was able to spend a few days in a stunning sunny Isle of Skye and Oban exploring the seaweed farming. Seaweed harvesting isn’t a new product in the west of Scotland but @kelpcrofters is different: this is cultivated seaweed farming. The kelp-seeded lines are “planted” in the autumn, left to germinate through the winter, and harvested, in May and June. Seaweed has everything, it needs no fertilisers, pesticide or land required. The farmers just leave it to grow and while it’s growing it’s also providing a habitat for fish and it’s cleaning the water of harmful heavy metals. Farmed kelp could produce plastic substitutes, beauty products and food supplements and they can also create ink. Watch this space, as WWF and @artwisecurators have recruitedgreat artists like @talbot.emma and Harland Miller to produce work linked to the seaweed industry for a project called Art For Your Oceans. Lots to learn about. Please read the full article on today’s guardian. Words written by the amazing @joannamoorhead thanks also to @ecocascade and Oceanium for the help and precious work they are doing.

St Ignatius College - The Portraits

St Ignatius College - The Portraits

We put a lot of heart and effort into this campaign, teaming up with Spy Studio design agency to make it all happen. From hunting down the perfect props and outfits to fine-tuning every detail, it truly was a collaborative effort. The day at the school was such a blast—we set up a studio and created images that brought the kids' dream professions to life. Watching their excitement as they stepped into the roles of their future selves was nothing short of inspiring. Together with Spy Studio, we transformed these aspirations into vibrant, tangible moments through photography—it was an unforgettable experience!
